Hello,

It's a new site, so we're obviously still looking to build the initial community. We're a bit late into the game too, hehe.

Since I've been playing UO from it's very beginning, I am very happy to see this forum. I will be looking in frequently... thank you ;)

If the expansion really makes the game feel more current (Technology-wise) I may join up again. I played for around 4 years solidly, and in and out several times over the next 4 years. I found it more and more difficult to 'go back' to a 10 year old game. Was still fun to play, but I had a hard time with how it looked and performed.

Same, I played for about 5 years and have went back twice but it has never been the same. I still check into it from time to time and miss the good old days.

I've played since early 1999 when they released UO: The Second Age. In 2003 I quit the Origins/EA servers, I now play on free servers and/or on my own personal one man server. I miss the early days of UO, I hated getting PK'd but it added excitement and realism to the game. I loved UO for allowing player housing, crafting and just a world to roam around in. IMO UO's skill system vice XP is a good one.

I would quickly jump on a modern 3d version of UO. They started two games like that but canceled them both. It would be great, imo, if they would take Britannia, skills, crafting, items, game map(increase the map size, don't change it just make it bigger), everything UO has and put it in current 3d Graphics (UO: Third Dawn sucked) as an entire new game, call it UO something and start it up. I'd be willing to pay up to $20 per month to play.

King Agesilaus was asked how far Sparta's borders went. He raised his spear and said "as far as this".

I am really dreading Kingdom Reborn. I don't understand why making everything look fuzzy and obscure is better? I love the crisp (and beautiful) look of UO. Why do they think it is the longest running game out there? I admit there are a lot of things that need updating.. the new monsters look promising. Change the backpack to a grid??? Please! don't do that! Can't use UO Assist or UO Automap? I'll bet their 'in-game' systems won't compare. They might just be ruining this game for me *cries*.

unfortunately kingdom reborn is nothing more than another uo3d I was hoping for more and will continue to keep my account active through the years because quite frankly I think UO pre trammel was the best mmorpg made..and someday somewhere someone will make a real uo2 in real 3d

I enjoyed UO so much that I have played since 1997 and have an embarrassing amount of accounts. That was before they introduced KR and informed me that eventually I won't be able to play in 2d and I won't have access to any of the new items/dungeons, etc. I play LOTRO now. I still have my accounts because it is too difficult to let go of what I have spent 10 years accomplishing and accumulating. I want to drop at least half of my accounts but can't make myself spend all those boring hours going through the houses/characters to see what I need to save on the two accounts I intend to keep for now. LOTRO is great ... more than great ... and I'm sure I will reach the point where I can make myself drop UO completely. Turbine (LOTRO) has shown that they really care about making sure the game is fun ... *waves goodbye* to EA :P
